The Oakville Hospital Foundation is running their annual Black & White Candlelight Ball this Saturday, November 2, 2013!  Braam's is involved in a very special auction prize for the Ultimate Dream Kitchen!  We're also donating cabinetry for the Ultimate Spa Bathroom.

Oakville Hospital Foundation - Black & White Candlelight Ball

Braam's Custom Cabinets is very excited to be included in this years OTMH Candlelight Ball! 

We are excited to share that we have some HUGE auction items up for bid....

Braam's will be included in a an auction for a DREAM KITCHEN designed by Ramsin Khachi and outfitted by a number of generous sponsors.  We are happy to offer our support to the Oakville community as they raise money for the specialty equipment they need for the Hospital.  

We will also be donating cabinetry in a separate auction item for a DREAM ENSUITE!  The amazing thing is that you get a Cayman Islands Vacation while your Ensuite is being refinished!  Who said Renovations were a drag?

Hot trends for 2013: NKBA Survey

The National Kitchen and Bath Association has released their survey results for 2013.  Trends this year include grey tones, painted white cabinetry, transitional designs, LED lights & touch activated faucets to name a few.

Braam's Reforestation Project

Braam’s Custom Cabinets understands the delicate balance between economy and sustainability.  The equilibrium of our planet is becoming increasingly uneven and we recognize that it is everyone’s responsibility to take action.  Braam’s is striving to become an environmentally responsible and sustainable company while still upholding our manufacturing standards.

Braam’s has been working alongside Amazonia Reforestation, to customize a reforestation project.  This Canadian owned company is located in the Orinoco River basin of Vichada, Colombia.  They work to plant tropical trees for timber, for carbon sequestration, for expanded wildlife habitat and for profit.   Braam’s is committed to supporting this organization in order to reduce our own carbon footprint and to help replace trees that are cut down for manufacturing use.

We started this project in January 2012 and to date, Braam's Custom Cabinets has planted 595 trees; 255 of which are native species and have been planted in a protected low-lying area.  The rest of the trees will grow for 10 years (at their prime sequestration rate at as much as 50 lbs of carbon/ year) and then be cut to make room for new trees.  These trees are equally important to sustainability> if plantation lumber is not available, it will be taken from the natural rain forest.

At present people worldwide are only planting 10% of the trees we are harvesting, burning or removing on an annual basis.  We are very happy to work with such a great company  to change the numbers!

As well as reforestation projects, Amazonia Reforestaion works in tandem with a number of environmental and wildlife protection programs.  They've just recently sent us some photos of La Pedregoza's giant Podocnemis river turtle rescue program:

Braam's Standard Finish Collections - 2013

We're very excited to announce our new colour launch!  

Braam's has come out with our first ever standard finish collection.  These stain, paint and specialty finishes will offer our clients lots of great choices that have already been hand picked by our Braam's designers.  It takes a little of the pressure off when trying to choose from so many custom options.  As always, our clients still have the option to do a custom finish if they're after something more specific.  

Each of our three showrooms has the complete collection on display (and they look much more stunning in person!), we're confident you'll love the finishes as much as we do.

Congrats to our design and finishing teams who put this all together, your hard work has paid off!
